DIY Essential Oil Gift Ideas
What’s the first thing you think about when you hear the word “Christmas”? Is it cold weather, gifts, the scents of winter, or spending time with family and friends? In this post I will share some of my fave do-it-yourself essential oil gift ideas. I hope they become your favorites as well.
We all love the holidays for many different reasons. For me it’s gift-giving and the scents of winter time. I love to go shopping and what’s even more fun for me is shopping for others. Seeing the face of your friend, significant other, or family member light up when they open their present (that you put so much thought into gifting them) is a great feeling.
I love essential oils and the holidays are my favorite time to play with winter essential oil scents. It’s so relaxing to experiment with the various holiday-scented oils that you can diffuse. Not only is it nice to have your house smelling good but it's also an opportunity to enjoy the healthy benefits that come along with it.
During this time of year colds and the flu are often going around like crazy. So diffusing essential oils will also help boost your wellness this time of year. This is a great time to not only use essential oils to benefit yourself and your health but give away DIY essential oil gifts for the holidays.
I gathered up some of my favorite essential oil holiday diffuser blends and some other DIY essential oil gift ideas for you. If you like them as much as I do, feel free to share with others!
Here are some fun diffuser blends and DIY gift ideas:
Sweater Weather Diffuser Blend
•3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
•2 drops juniper berry essential oil
•1 drop sage essential oil
Flannel Diffuser Blend
•3 drops cardamom essential oil
•1 drop cinnamon bark essential oil
•1 drop wild orange essential oil
•1 drop clove essential oil
Christmas Cheer Diffuser Blend
•2 drops wild orange essential oil
•2 drops white fir essential oil
•1 drop spearmint essential oil
•1 drop clove essential oil
Yummy Sugar Scrub
•1 cup of raw sugar
•¼ cup of coconut oil
•15 crops of peppermint essential oil
Directions: Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir thoroughly. Once you have mixed all the ingredients together store them in an airtight container. You can store sugar scrub for up to 2 months. To use, apply sugar scrub to wet skin. Massage the scrub into the skin thoroughly and then rinse with water. Enjoy!
Eucalyptus-Mint Bath Oil
•2-3 ounces of carrier oil (coconut oil, jojoba oil, avocado oil)
•10 drops peppermint essential oil
•20 drops eucalyptus essential oil
Directions: Pour 2-3 ounces of your carrier oil into a small bottle or container. Next, you’ll add the peppermint and eucalyptus essential oil with the carrier oil. Once you have added the essential oil, place the cap on the bottle and gently shake to combine ingredients. You will want to shake before every use because separation will occur. When filling up your bath add a tablespoon of the bath oil. ENJOY!
TIP: Peppermint essential oil can quickly become really overpowering to other scents. So when adding the Eucalyptus essential oil add twice as much to balance the Peppermint out. If you want to make your own custom bath oil blend, be sure to use a maximum of 30 drops total of your selected essential oils.
